Community Guidelines
The standards every rider, driver and provider agrees to the moment they use NamCab.
Last updated 8 July 2026
NamCab works because strangers trust each other enough to share a car. These guidelines protect that trust. They apply to everyone on the platform — riders, drivers, transfer providers and corporate travellers — in the vehicle, in the app, and in any interaction connected to a trip.
Treat everyone with respect
- No harassment of any kind — verbal, physical or sexual. Flirting with or propositioning someone who is doing their job, or someone driving you, is harassment.
- No discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or appearance.
- Drivers may not refuse or cancel trips because of a rider’s destination or neighbourhood.
- No aggressive behaviour, threats or insults, in person or through the app.
Zero tolerance
The following lead to immediate removal from the platform and, where appropriate, a report to the Namibian Police:
- Violence or threats of violence.
- Sexual assault or sexual misconduct of any kind.
- Carrying unlicensed weapons in the vehicle.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Riders who believe their driver may be impaired should end the trip safely, and report it immediately.
- Using the platform for any unlawful purpose, including transporting illegal goods.
In the vehicle
- Wear your seatbelt — drivers may require it before starting the trip.
- No open alcohol, no smoking, and no vaping in the vehicle.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult and use appropriate restraints.
- Respect the vehicle: riders are responsible for damage or soiling they cause beyond normal wear.
- Cash fares must be paid in full at the end of the trip.
In the app
- One account per person, in your real name. Do not share accounts or let someone else take trips as you.
- Rate honestly. Ratings retaliation — punishing someone for enforcing these rules — is itself a violation.
- Do not take trips off-platform that were arranged through NamCab. Off-platform trips have no insurance trail, no GPS record and no support if something goes wrong.
What happens when rules are broken
Reports are reviewed by a person, not just an algorithm. Depending on severity, consequences range from a warning to feature restrictions to permanent deactivation. Zero-tolerance violations skip the ladder. Everyone has a right of appeal — see the Deactivation & Appeals Policy.
